Psalm 91 on Ray Lewis’ Postgame T-Shirt

Ray Lewis

It is quite normal for people to print just about anything in their shirts, from different designs to opinions. But when what your T-shirt says on it stirs a whole lot of people off their seats without criticism of what it conveys, then it’s definitely a worthy statement.

This is exactly what Ray Lewis did. The soon-to-be-retired linebacker of the NFL just recently took off his jersey after a game to reveal a black sleeveless T-shirt on which is printed on a gold font the Psalm for Protection, Psalm 91, also known as a psalm for hard times.

The shirt received much attention as Lewis made a victory lap around the M&T stadium, sending many to consider what message Lewis’ is trying to put across. Lewis, who is said to have taken refuge in the Lord, says he hopes that his action has been uplifting for people, especially those who need to push through no matter what circumstance they may be under. He also said that he felt no pain in recording a game high 13 even after suffering from a season-ending triceps tear.

A great t-shirt company in Staten Island, NY that employs disabled Staten Islanders hasn’t been doing too well financially.  The t-shirt company must restructure it’s business or it will be laying off employees and cutting back hours.

As much as the employees enjoy their job, it’s most likely going to be lost.  They aren’t getting enough sales, and since they use their facility as a vocational education center for the disabled, it costs more to run the place.

Executive director Stephen Rynn is looking into ways to prevent the company from taking more losses.  Stephen says that he is thankful though that the employees have grown and learned much from working there and he’s grateful for it.

Crosstown New York has released the recently seen Ryan Rex tatoo.  The Jet’s player started a lot of buzz by showing off his new tat, and all that Crosstown needed was a little feedback to see if they would get the t-shirt printed and available to customers.  They asked the question on their Facebook page if anyone would be interested in purchasing it, and the response was very positive.

They went ahead and started selling the t-shirt that has a cartoon character that looks like Ryan’s wife, Michelle, wearing a green jersey and sitting on a green “Rex”, a pun to the Jet’s signature color.

Some sports reporters think it’s all a gimmick, but for Ryan Rex, he’s enjoying all the publicity he’s getting!

The Solid Gold T-shirt

Man Buys Solid Gold Shirt to 'Dazzle' the Ladies

There’s nothing like buying your own solid gold t-shirt.  Indian businessman Datta Phuge seems to think so, having 15 goldsmiths working for 15 days to make his $230,000 t-shirt (and belt, by the way) golden t-shirt with six Swarovski buttons.

It has 14,000 golden flowerings and 100,00 spangles sewn into what looks like a mesh armor that knights once wore.  Why did he make such an extravagant shirt?  Aside from the fact that he can now show off his bling without any doubt that nobody will notice him, he wanted to “dazzle the ladies”.  Stating himself that he doesn’t find himself very attractive, he believes that he’s going to score some points with the opposite sex.

I myself would be careful where he wears such expensive clothing, considering that there are a lot of dangerous people walking the streets at any hour, looking for any chance to take that shirt off his back and sell it for big bucks.
The “Gold Man of Pimpri” said that another reason he bought the golden apparel is as an investment.  Gold does appreciate in value over time, so he’s hoping that in the future the shirt and belt will be worth more than it is now.  He has already placed an order for a gold-plated Nokia phone, so by the time he’s done, he’s going to be shining.

Gold is his passion and he won’t quit till he has more of it.  So, for those of you looking on how to get a hand on your own golden t-shirt, just fly on down to India and spend about $200,000.  E-mail us when you get yours!

Are You Passionate About Your T-Shirts?

Some would look at a t-shirt as a causal article of clothing that you wear with a pair of jeans or shorts. Others would classify their t-shirts as a symbol of some sorts. Whether you wear t-shirts as “good luck charm” or to create a statement what you wear can definitely signify what you’re passionate about. T-shirts can tell stories and create memories for years to come, and there are thousands of people that feel the same way. Have you ever thought about why you wear t-shirts or maybe what your t-shirts mean to you?

As a child you typically have a favorite t-shirt that you like to put on. This early on your t-shirts typically become your favorites due to a theme, design, or color. Once mom buys you that new Spider man tee shirt you can’t wait to wear it and show all of your friends. Many of us unfortunately, don’t get to salvage those old t-shirts.

As you start to get older, t-shirts and other articles of clothing can have a more in depth meaning to you. As a teenager you might be into playing sports. Have you ever worn a t-shirt to a game and won, and vowed to always wear the t-shirt to games? While the shirt itself may not have the gift of luck, something about wearing it makes you feel great.

Adults have t-shirts that they wear to their favorite sporting event, t-shirts from souvenirs of a trip, and even because of the style, color, or theme. Wearing the shirts almost instantly put us back in that moment we first wore it. T-shirts serve a purpose far beyond a causal wardrobe staple; they can help in creating memories and experiences that will never be forgotten. What t-shirts are you passionate about?

Go green T-shirts

There are different ways in which we can always show support for the environment. T-shirts have become a common trend and everyone loves t-shirts. If you do not get actively involved in preserving the environment, the least you can do is create awareness.  Having eco-friendly t-shirts is a simple but very important step in the right direction towards a better future. The best types of t-shirts to pass the message of going green are the custom-made embroidery t-shirts.

Can you imagine going out as a family and the both parents and the children have t-shirts that create awareness for the need to protect the environment? While shopping for the environmental friendly t-shirts, the material used to make the t-shirts should be a main concern. Organic cotton t-shirts are a good example.  Other types of material that can be used to make t-shirts that will pass a strong message and serve as a reminder that we need to conserve the environments include modal, bamboo as well as recycled polyester.

Companies and big organizations have a great audience that they can reach with promotional t-shirts with a strong message on preserving the environment. Everyone one has a responsibility to protect the environment for a better future. However, some need to be constantly reminded and there is no better way to do this than using clothing and more particularly t-shirts. T-shirts are a preference for most people irrespective of their age, social status or even financial backgrounds. Get your green t-shirt and help spread the message.

Smart T-Shirts monitor ill patients

Every time we go see a doctor, it costs us strain from the long wait in the waiting room, plus the costly bill. Those who need frequent check-ups to monitor their progress have no choice but to suffer from these strains, but that won’t be a problem anymore. There is a new way for patients to get a check up without actually visiting the doctor. It is the smart t-shirt developed by a group of 14 partners from Europe, through the Chronius project coordinated by Mr. Rosso, particularly for patients suffering Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and Chronic kidney disease (CKD). This light-weight smart t-shirt has heart, respiratory and activity monitoring sensors that can be changed specifically to patients’ requirements.

Along with the t-shirt, the system works with external devices, such as digital weight scales, glucometers, blood pressure monitors, spirometers and evenair quality sensors. The care provider receives information relayed from the sensors through a smartphone or PDA, with the help of intelligent software, making it more convenient, especially for patients who are in need of long-term care. It also has an alert system that can connect patients living by themselves to their care provider in case of emergency.

This project had also caught interest from sports organizations such as Italy’s rugby team. With the innovative system of Chronius T-shirt, it can help sports team in monitoring the player’s performance during training.

I Wear Your Shirt

Selling ad space on your chest is a brilliant idea “to make some extra money without actually working”. This idea came to Jason Sadler, from Florida, in 2008 and established an advertising company that uses t-shirts to advertise businesses, I Wear Your Shirt. I Wear Your Shirt allows a company to buy a day in which Sadler wears a shirt with the company’s logo and advertise in an interactive way by taking pictures and videos about the company, and upload them to Ustream and Youtube, making him wear different shirts every day of the year.

Sadler decided to capitalize on t-shirts because people love to wear them, they’re easy to sell, and inexpensive. A unique pricing model is complied by this advertising company. Advertising on the first day of the year costs $1. The price increases everyday which makes advertising on the last day of the year costs $365.There is also a revised model, where a week is paid by the advertisers to give more individualized attention.

On their first six months, the whole year was sold out, bringing in $70,000 for the first year. This had caught the attention of the New York Times, Fast Company and other media outlets. Now, I Wear Your Shirt is composed of a team of five and earns $500,000 per year. Their clients include Arizona Tea, Starbucks, Pizza Hut, Nissan, and Lucky Brand. The company is continuously growing and will be shifting to a new direction soon.

Registering with QR-code T-Shirts

Voters for 2012 presidential election can now register with the new QR-code T-shirt. This was devised by a non-profit organization, Rock the Vote, which aims to engage and build political power for young people. Participants wearing QR-code t-shirt will be scanned and then taken to the Rock the Vote website, by volunteers, to register. After registering, they can simply use their mobile device to vote. With the help of RedLaser, a QR-code scanning app, Rock the Vote, together with ProJam was able to develop the code.

This campaign is designed to invite younger audience. Based on the Census Bureau report in 2008 and 2010, 18-to-24-year-old demographics had the lowest voter turnout in the election-by-lot. The New Republic publications sites that young adults are more likely to vote until older because they have the tendency to delay their goals further. Even with these economic crisis, Rock the Vote hopes to gain 1.5 million new voters before November 6 this year.

PromoJam’s Amanda MacNaughton, who worked with Rock the Vote on this project said, “QR codes can do fun things like gamification. They also cut down on loss of conversion and increase convenience. QR codes haven’t moved mainstream with all demographics, but Generation Y knows what they are and they use them.”

The QR-code equipped Rock the Vote t-shirts are sold online and in Whole Foods stores nationwide. For those interested to volunteer can support the project by wearing the t-shirt and persuading people to sign up.
