Spreadshirt Collection – What’s New In A Shirt?

The wait is over for cotton enthusiasts – the Spreadshirt Collection is finally off and running. This new collection offers colorful T-shirts for men, women, and kids. What makes it different, though, is that there is no middleman to contend with, so stocks will come in steady.

What makes Spreadshirt different? Prior to the shirts making, Anne, Spreadshirt Apparel Manager, has made an extensive travel around the world to search only the best manufacturer for the line. She has flown all the way from Europe to Asia, and then back again before settling for Switcher, a company in Portugal which she says is a dependable partner and a certified manufacturer.

Spreadshirt does not stop there, though. Every piece has its own DNA code that allows its owner to trace all desired details regarding the production of the shirt. The code has just to be entered at www.respect-code.org, and you will get all the production details that you would like to have.

These shirts come in specifications that are intended for men, women, kids, and teenagers. The fabric weight, color, size, and cut have been carefully tailored out to fit this different user groups.

And not to forget, you’ll surely love that cute little love tab attached to the shirt’s left sleeve and on the inside of the back of the collar.

Shareable Shirts

In today’s world of t-shirts, everyone’s trying to outdo everyone else. This competitive creative drive often yields something new and entirely innovative for the consumer to wear and enjoy. Most of the time, the end result is an innovative new design: an optical illusion, a visual pun, or maybe a new artistic interpretation of an older idea. Occasionally, this creativity results in a change to the t-shirt medium itself. One classic example of this is Generra’s Hypercolor t-shirts, that changed color based on temperature. On April 1, Spreadshirt announced another new way to alter and add to the t-shirt paradigm – the multi-person shirt.

Yes – this is exactly what it sounds like – a t-shirt made to fit anywhere from two to five people. Although, to be fair, once the garment goes beyond two arm holes, can it really be called a “T” shirt? Let’s let history make the call on that one. These shirts are perfect for couples, smaller sports teams, or groups of people looking to express solidarity. Alternately, these multi-person shirts are perfect for those who can’t afford a fine garment on their own, and would like to pool their money with friends and buy something fashionable that they can all wear at once.

If it sounds wacky and far-fetched, count yourself among the un-gullible. This indeed was nothing more than an April Fool’s joke on the part of Spreadshirt. Then again, given how far people stretch boundaries in this medium, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone actually tries this for real.

For every Simpsons fan

Have a hot date and nothing to wear? For Simpsons fans, at least, the good folks over at Spreadshirt have you covered with their brand-new line of officially licensed t-shirts and tops celebrating Matt Groening’s beloved cult comedy. Over the years, fans have seen their favorite Simpsons characters emblazoned on everything from toys to lunch boxes and playing cards.

From the beginning, though, there were always the t-shirts. Long-time Simpsons fans probably remember the first time they wore a “Bart Simpson: Underachiever and Proud of It” t-shirt to school, and were subsequently told to turn it inside out, lest the cartoon’s subversive message disrupt the learning process.

As the show and its fans have matured, so have the t-shirt offerings. Paying respect to its heritage, this latest collection still celebrates Bart’s passion for slacking off and causing general mayhem, yet makes room to showcase Homer’s dueling lusts for beer, foodstuffs and relaxation. There’s even a design that pays tribute to Homer’s brief but glorious time as a softball player.

In all, there are nine unique designs, ensuring that Simpsons buffs will always have something to wear. And for those who want to stay traditional, this new collection features – you guessed it – an “Underachiever and Proud of It” t-shirt. Now, children of all ages can disrupt the learning process.

New Year Resolution T-shirt contest

It’s a new year and everyone knows they want to accomplish goals and get over obstacles that they couldn’t in 2011.  If you haven’t written down your goals for this year, I encourage you to do to that, and while your at it, go to spreadshirt.com.  If you want to earn free t-shirt from spreadshirt.com this is your chance.  All you have to do is use their website to design a t-shirt with your New Year resolution on it.  Once you’ve created it, just post it on SpreadShirt’s Facebook page to be placed in the drawing.

Three people will win and so far there haven’t been too many entries so the chances of winning are very high.  You don’t need to be an artist, graphic designer or whatever.  The design program that the website utilizes is simple and easy to use.  If you don’t want to get fancy, just write out the resolution on a plain colored tee.  Try to make it funny or appealing in some way.  Just stop for a minute and think if you would like that shirt.  If you think it’s terrible, then you know you need to change it.  Give it a try, what do you have to lose?  It’s free to try!

Stressdressed.com T-shirts

Are you ready for some fun with your t-shirts?  Do you like getting someone’s attention or just a laugh with what you wear?  Well, stressdressed.com has some very good stuff you’ll want to see.  They make shirts that help you express that inner, strange feeling we all sometimes get.  For example, check out their “Beware of evolution” design above, or what about “Beware of protesters”.  I bet that came about since the whole Occupy WallStreet ordeal has been all over the news.

Aside from their crazy artwork (that can also come without the phrases), they seem to use a cool looking character in all the images.  Kind of like those little creatures from the movie Despicable Me, these suckers are on every shirt.  Each one is doing something fun or crazy.  They use a technique called plot printing, which won’t allow the t-shirt’s design to fade after being washed several times.  There aren’t many discounts or options to choose from though, but they are working on more looks.  The prices aren’t that bad, so that’s a plus.  Make sure you buy the right one and take your time choosing the size because they don’t do refunds since the shirts are printed on demand, not in bulk.

Overall, this store has something really great to offer that many people will love, funny and crazy looking characters with a unique phrase.  BEWARE!

A Different Way to Shop for the Holidays

There’s a new way to find custom gifts: let the Spreadshirt Elves help you out.  Almost all of the mainstream print on demand t-shirt companies (like Spreadshirt, Zazzle, and CafePress) make gift suggestions during the holiday season just in case you have absolutely no idea what to get a family member, friend, or co-worker.  The help usually comes in the form of a list full of product suggestions.  However, most of the suggestions given are products the label is trying to get rid of.  No that helpful if you ask me.

Spreadshirt is looking to change that with their Elves.  The idea is simple: you place a help request that describes the person buying for and a real life person, not a supercomputer algorithm, searches the Spreadshirt Marketplace and comes up with concrete, personalized gift ideas.  Really cool.  The suggestions are non-binding, which means there’s no obligation to take the Elves’ ideas to the checkout.  Don’t worry, they wont get mad!

There’s also a pretty sweet behind-the-scenes look at how the elves come up with their suggestions.

Be Positive with Mona Lisa

The clothes you are not allowed to wear if you are unhappy.  So says Be Positive, a new design label centered around positive thinking and smiles.  Hence the featured custom t-shirt design: Mona Lisa Smiles.  Apparently, if you’re not happy you’re unfit to wear these t-shirts.

Be Positive’s Mona Lisa Smiles is a goofy take on the famous portrait.  But it works.  The superimposed emoticon on Mona Lisa’s infamous expressionless face is a much needed update.  But Be Positive doesn’t stop there.  Their designs emphasize finding the positive in everything, never stop dreaming, smiling, spread the movement, and never think half-empty.

Be Positive uses Spreadshirt for their printing, so you can do a little customization along with the Be Positive designs.  They also offer a ton of products, like hoodies and tank tops.  So you’re pretty much covered in terms of style.  Here are a couple of other designs Be Positive is pushing:

99tshirts set to Launch Custom T-Shirt Storefront

India is about to customize.  99tshirts, one of India’s fastest growing online fashion apparel store, is planning to launch its custom t-shirt storefront sometime next month.

99tshirts is similar to many of the online custom shirt players like Zazzle, CafePress, and Spreadshirt, offering not just custom t-shirts but a wide variety of apparel, including polo shirts, hoodies, and women’s tops.  There is no middle man, as 99tshirts have vertically integrated the entire shirt making process, from securing raw materials to the manufacturing.  This should keep costs relatively down on their end.  That seems to translate to the consumer, as their beta test site shows an XL men’s t-shirt with design going for $8.15 (399 INR).

The current showcased designs are nothing to write home about.  Hopefully there will be more to come as t-shirt designers begin to upload their creations for customers.  Their customization option is not available on the beta version, so the jury is out on the process of uploading and creating a custom t-shirt.  The daily deals section is a nice touch and should funnel traffic towards the highlighted item.  But with a huge market potential, 99tshirts looks poised to capitalize on a continuing trend towards customization in India.
